Mr. Chetan Thakkar is a Partner of Kanga & Co., a leading firm of Advocates and Solicitors in Bombay, established in 1890. A first-generation lawyer, Mr. Thakkar completed his LL.B. in Sangli, Maharashtra from the Shivaji University, Kolhapur followed by an LL.M. for the University of Mumbai. Thereafter, he qualified as a Solicitor from Bombay in the year 2000. Since then, he has been associated with Kanga & Co. first, as an Associate and then as a partner from the year 2006 onwards.
Mr. Thakkar has been practising for over 17 years and has vast experience in matters relating to capital markets and has developed a keen insight into regulator’s line of thought and specialises in applying the same when advising regulated entities on their various deals.
His experience includes advising issuers and investments banks in capital markets sphere on initial public offerings and rights issues. Presently, Mr. Thakkar is an
independent director on the Board of Resins & Plastics Ltd.
